First Friday Frolicking w/Steampunk Costume Contest at IKON IMAGES

Picture yourself  in front of a Victorian England or American Wild West backdrop, add some industrial steam powered influences to create your steampunk costume, and you just might be the winner!

if you're new to the idea of steampunk here's a bit of a definition to help you...
Steampunk, is a subgenre of science fiction and sometimes fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. It’s an extremely eclectic and historical style, representing the best of merging influences from the Victorian Era, The American Wild West, The Pirate Era, Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Goth, Science Fiction, Retrofuturism, and some post-apocalyptic.

Registration opens at 5pm
Judging starting at 6:30pm
Winners announced 9pm

Judges are Elizabeth Kaplan, professional costumer for Canton Ballet and Mandy Altimus Pond, professional archivist for The Massillon Museum.

1. Quality and Construction
2.Level of Detail ( jewelry/shoes, make- up/hairstyle, accents like aging/distressing
3.Level of Difficulty – How difficult was it to execute this costume design. Are there moving parts? Are there multiple pieces?
4. Level of Creativity – Is this costume/idea original? 
5.Character Development - How well does the costume support the development of a character?
1st place and runner-up winner announced at 9PM with all that social  media posting and specially designed award by 3D artist Joseph Miller.
